YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Hours before a gunman opened fire at an entrance to a Yellowstone National Park employee dining hall, injuring one ranger, authorities had been warned he planned to carry out a mass shooting at the facility,

The 60-year-old was walking with her husband and dog near a geyser when she broke through the ground into scalding waters on Monday afternoon, according to the National Park Service.

NPS lifts restrictions, says there are currently "no active wildland fires" Nearly two months later, NPS authorities at Yellowstone lowered the fire danger rating back to "High"

Yellowstone National Park said it has reduced its fire level to HIGH and lifted Stage 1 fire restrictions that went into effect July 27 “At this time, there are no fire restrictions in place or planned in the park,” the park said. It said no wildland fires are currently burning in the park.
