Clark County Public Health officials are warning residents about a rise in whooping cough cases and chickenpox outbreaks hitting the county, impacting three schools.

Clark County is experiencing an alarming spike in whooping cough and chickenpox cases among children — outbreaks that health officials say could’ve been prevented.

Three schools have been impacted by chickenpox outbreaks. The majority of whooping cough and chickenpox cases are among unvaccinated children, the county said.

Now, new information in that case indicates the driver who was towing that bulldozer lied to police and is now facing felony charges as a result. Someone crashed their Rolls-Royce allegedly in a street race.

Whooping Cough cases are climbing across the nation, including in Rhode Island. The respiratory infection is highly contagious, with most cases seen in children. The superintendent said there are at least four current Whooping Cough cases at Portsmouth High School.
