Alphabet's Google on Thursday released a smartphone app for its artificial intelligence chatbot on Apple's App Store that introduced the latest generation of its voice assistant to the popular mobile operating system.

Google on Thursday launched a dedicated Gemini app for the iPhone, giving its marquee virtual helper a bigger role on Apple's smartphone. That also means you'll be able to use Gemini Live, the more conversational version of Gemini, on the iPhone for the first time.

Google's flagship AI assistant, Gemini , is now officially available as a standalone application on the Apple App Store. The search giant's home-grown AI technology first debuted on the iPhone within the Google app, but Apple users can now access the chatbot platform via this new purpose-built interface.
